Join Nowhere Cinema in honoring Black Resistance with a ticketed screening of Uptight!

Jules Dassin's Uptight is a movie of a moment in time. Released just months after Martin Luther King Jr.'s murder, this powerful film demands to be seen on the big screen.

This screening will be subtitled. CW: Uptight contains racist and homophobic slurs, gun violence, and alcoholism. If you have any questions, please email nowherecinema@pm.me.

In 2026, Nowhere Cinema is transitioning to licensed screenings to build toward long-term sustainability and eventually open our own space. Tickets are pay-what-you-can with a $6 minimum. If you're able to contribute more, that directly helps us cover licensing costs and work toward special events. If the ticket price is a barrier for you, send us an email and we'll make sure you can attend.
